Jimmy and JoAnn Drake moved to Farmington in 1959 with Sayers Well Service. In 1963 Sayers sold out and the Drakes decided to strike out on their own! They endured, enjoyed, survived and grew for the next 60 years-through every boom and bust!

The 1970's Drake Well Service decided to expand it's line of service and it's family involvement.  Greg Drake (Jimmy & JoAnn's son) joined DWS after college to manage operations through the next four decades, with highs and lows again dictating his tenure.

In 2014, Drake McCulloch (Jimmy & JoAnn's grandson) a chemical engineer by study joined the company.  Entering in at a difficult time, Drake implemented strategic changes and new equipment.

Drake Well Service has served the San Juan Basin in the oil and gas industry for 60 years.  We are proud to be three generations of exemplary service and safety.
